About us
The stupa situated at Adurru village is a sacred Ancient Datu Stupa by the side of Vynateya river a tributary to Godavari river. This is one of the 84000 stupas constructed by Emperor Ashoka to commemorate the teachings of Thadagatha Gowthama the Buddha. Its also said that Theri Sangamitra the daughter of Emperor Ashoka laid the foundation stone on her way from Bodhgaya to Anuradha Puram carrying the staple of Bodhi tree.
